A Salem, Virginia native, Justin Barham graduated from Salem High School in 1990.  He went on to graduate from Virginia Tech in 1996 with a Bachelors of Science in Marketing Management with a focus in Finance and Economics.  While at the university he always wanted to attend, he was active in intramural sports and in the German Club fraternity.

Justin devoted time after school to serve the country as a United States Marine.  He was stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina for infantry school and combat engineer training.  He then moved back to Roanoke as a Marine Reservist for Bravo Company, 4th Marine combat engineers.  Like most of his fellow Marines, his rank and role changed as the situation dictated.  During his enlistment, he wore many hats including platoon sergeant and platoon commander.  He also functioned as the Marine combat water survival instructor for Bravo Company and, on occasion, for the 4th Battalion, 4th Marine Division.

He remains active with the Virginia Tech Alumni Foundation, the German Club Alumni Foundation, and the Marine Corps League.

In 1995, Justin made his introduction in to the insurance business through an internship at New York Life earning his Life and Health licensures.  His career was launched when joining his father, a 50 year veteran in the industry, in 1996.  He had the luxury of working in conjunction with his father before his full retirement and benefitted greatly from that experience.  Justin continues to work with clientele in the areas of business, estate, retirement, and succession planning.  His practice services a wide range of clients from young professionals to entrepreneurs  to retirees with the ultimate goal of helping create, protect, and transfer their wealth congruent to their personal financial goals.

Justin presently resides in Roanoke with his wife Ashlei Tripp Barham who he says is the “most beautiful woman I’ve ever known.”  They have two precious sons – Oscar and Gunner.
